The same version of Python should be installed in the entire lab. (We installed Python 2 in the PEP lab <a href=\"https:\/\/arlduc.org\/senseandscale\/?p=2636\">back in 2019<\/a>, but Python 2 is increasingly deprecated.)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Free Textbook: Think Python\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/greenteapress.com\/wp\/think-python\/\">Think Python<\/a> for Python 2<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/greenteapress.com\/wp\/think-python-2e\/\">Think Python<\/a> for Python 3<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/grantjenks.com\/docs\/freegames\/\">Free Python Games<\/a> (download Zip file <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/grantjenks\/free-python-games\/archive\/refs\/heads\/master.zip\">here<\/a>)\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Students can learn Python by modifying the code for these free, simple games.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3D Animation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Recommended free software: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blender.org\/download\/\">Blender<\/a>, which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.blenderbasecamp.com\/home\/can-i-use-blender-offline-or-do-i-need-internet\/\">does not require web connectivity to use<\/a>. Blender is very popular with young animators today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some (all?) PEP lab computers already have <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Microsoft_3D_Viewer\">Microsoft 3D Viewer<\/a>, but this software can only be used to view 3D models.
