If you’re willIng to share some of your own answers to his questions, PLEASE do so in an essay that reflects how you will continue to work on diversity, inclusion, and representation in tech beyond the scope of this class.

  • Guest Speakers: Randy Brown and Kirk Fernandes, Merit. Kirk and Randy have kindly shared some questions. Feel free to ASK THEM THE QUESTIONS THAT INTEREST YOU:
    • Randy: What were you doing before Merit? What did you do there?
    • Kirk: What were you doing before Merit? What did you do at Microsoft, Hightower, and VTS?
    • How did you two start working together?
    • What is Merit? How does it work?
    • What is the goal of Merit? Why are you working on this?
    • How does creating a diverse technical workforce affect society at large?
    • What are the biggest obstacles in your way? Whats been the hardest part?
    • How has product development for Merit worked to date? How have you gotten to where you are today with product development?
    • Why did you two decide to become founders?
  • 1-on-1 Check-ins: We will briefly discuss your questions, absences, extra credit, etc.
  • If there’s time: brief presentation from Prof A on Multimer.

  • Finish ALL YOUR FINAL REQUIREMENTS. Due Times for Full Credit:
    • VIDEO: Posted to your blog by Monday, May 13 at 4:30 PM (so we can watch it in class)
    • EVERYTHING ELSE: Posted to your blog by Monday, May 13 by 11:59PM. Prof A will start grading on May 14.
